Sunset Painting by Krystyna Habura

Oil on canvas from Polish painter and sculptor Krystyna Habura. Habura was known for her Bohemian style, particularly her use of colour and mixture of abstract and figurative composition. Habura’s practice was later disrupted by her anomic aphasia following a stroke, for which she is the subject of several studies done in her home country of Poland. This piece precedes that period of her career and was produced in Krakow in 1983 according to indications on the back of the canvas. This painting is presumed to have been auctioned during her extended time spent in Denmark while visiting her daughter.
