Aksel Kjersgaard Low Teak Drawers

This low chest of drawers, designed by Aksel Kjersgaard for Odder Møbler, is a definitive example of 1960s Danish minimalism, prioritising geometric purity and high-quality joinery. The unit is masterfully constructed from solid oak and teak veneers, featuring a pale, honey-toned grain that emphasises the piece’s clean, architectural lines.

A hallmark of Kjersgaard’s design language, the two wide drawers feature unique circular puls with carved details. The cabinet is framed by exposed mitered joints at the corners, showcasing the precision of the construction. This solid volume is elevated on simple but boxy slender rectangular legs that complement the angular nature of the piece.
