Alvar Aalto Red Model 68

This Alvar Aalto Model 68 chairsfor Artek embodies classic mid-century design, defined by clean geometry, thoughtful proportions, and the innovative use of bent birch plywood.

The chairs feature Aalto’s signature L-shaped legs, which curve smoothly to create a unified, seamless structure. Its round seat is accented with a vibrant red linoleum insert, adding a striking pop of color that contrasts beautifully with the warm wooden frame. The backrest is gently angled and minimal in form, offering support without interrupting the chair’s streamlined silhouette.

Designed for both visual clarity and everyday practicality, this piece reflects the enduring modernism central to Aalto’s work.
