B & G Ceramic Set with Custom Box
Bing and Grondahl were one of Denmark’s leading porcelain factories, founded in 1853 by Frederik Vilhelm Grondahl, Meyer and Jacob Herman Bing. In 1961 the company’s artistic consultant Asger Fish supported the employment of danish designer Erik Magnussen. As a designer Magnussen was drawn to creating products based on functionality, simplicity and suitability for purpose. It was here at Bing and Grondahl he created several dinner services, one of which was the ‘Hank’ service. This set was comprised of 18 pieces and was his first serveware design to feature colours other than just white.
Here at Ælfred we have an exceptional example of Magnussen’s ‘Hank’ service in Marine Blue.
