Borge Mogensen Model 122 Chair

Designed by influential Danish designer Børge Mogensen and manufactured by Søborge in the 1960s the model 122 chair is a true example of Mogensen's style and skill as a designer. 

Made from teak wood this chair is seemingly simplistic in design, however the consideration and craftsmanship of the piece ensure its timelessness. The curved lines create a sleekness and are followed through every aspect of this model's design. Starting at the oval shape of the backrest with its ergonomic curvature the curved lines are echoed in the shape and bend of the seat, following down to the soft angles of the frame. These soft lines are then met with a juxtaposition of the firm straight legs of the piece. Overall this design highlights the beauty and simplicity of Nordic design.
