Designed in the early 1970s, the Falcon Chair by Norwegian designer Sigurd Resell is a striking icon of Scandinavian modernism—a piece that harmoniously balances industrial innovation with sculptural elegance. This particular version, featuring a polished chrome frame, represents a rarer and highly sought-after variant of the original design, manufactured before the production of the frame was switched to beech wood in 1974.

At the heart of the Falcon Chair's appeal is its ingenious suspended construction. Rather than resting on a traditional seat base, the leather sling is tension-mounted to a cantilevered frame, creating a floating effect that allows the seat to flex and respond subtly to the sitter's weight. The four-point frame, made from chrome-plated steel, is elegantly splayed in a starburst formation, offering both visual lightness and structural stability.

The deep, tufted cushion—crafted from thick, high-quality leather—is supported by a form-hugging canvas sling, which cradles the body and encourages a reclined, relaxed posture. This combination of soft, organic upholstery with sharp, engineered steel encapsulates the mid-century modern ethos of contrast and balance.
