Hans Olsen Model 107 Chair

Designed in 1959 by Danish furniture designer Hans Olsen for manufacture by Bramin Møbler. Olsen was a student of Danish modernist Kaare Klint and became known for his use of laminated bent wood. The Model 107 chair is an excellent example of Olsen’s use of a combination of different types of wood to achieve a swooping, ergonomic effect characteristic of 50s Danish furniture design. The frame is oak, and the backrest laminated bent ply, all stained a rich walnut tone. This particular chair is an un-upholstered version of the original.
