Preben Fabricius & Jorgen Kastholm coffee table

This incredible coffee table was created by Preben Fabricius & Jorgen Kastholm circa 1970. The Danish design duo met at the Copenhagen School of Interior Design and went on to form their own studio in 1961. Within their time together they designed stunning pieces of functional furniture derived from a focus of applying creativity to  practicality and shape. 

This table is a beautiful manufactured by Bo-Ex in Denmark, is a wonderful example of their skill and consideration, a very simplistic square table is elevated by the creative use of rectangular pieces to create the shape. The stunning rich slabs of wenge wood are paired with stark black slate centre, with chrome detailing running through the top extending to the chrome legs of the tables frame. This combination of rich metals and natural materials, adds intrigue to the piece and elevates the simplistic shape.
