This piece is an oil painting by Artist Einar Gross. Born in 1895, Denmark, this is where Gross spent his career often painting his surroundings. His pieces took great inspiration from the landscapes, buildings and coastlines of Denmark. 

This particular piece is a muted toned oil painting of a cottage by the hillside. The colours are warm, creating a sunkissed glow to the buildings and scenery. The painting is set in a gold-coloured scooped moulded frame. The artist's signature can be seen in the left bottom corner, with additional text and writing on the reverse of the canvas and frame.
