Painting by Ragnar Nyberg

This painting is by artist Ragnar Nyberg. Born in 1893, Nyberg was a Swedish artist practicing in the early twentieth century during the era of post-impressionism. This piece depicts a warm forest scene, illustrating a group of people seated at benches under a pine tree canopy. The warm tones of this oil painting perfectly encapsulated a visit to the forest. The artist's signatures can be seen in the bottom right corner. 

The piece is set in a dark wood frame that has been painted a mottled cream and features gold coloured edging.
